BlockGame.US will be going unwhitelisted within the coming days. This is not a decision I made lightly, and it honestly hurts to even type this out. We worked unbelievably hard on this server (I can't thank @vops enough). A lot of time, effort, and genuine passion went into BlockGame, and at this point I am just not able to show for it or give it what it deserves.
Instead of leaving the server whitelisted and having people wait around for something that realistically is not coming anytime soon, I would rather be honest and unwhitelist it than continue wasting people’s time. BlockGame is not being dramatic or erased from existence. I am simply no longer actively pushing for development, and I would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
What Will and Will Not Be Playable
Unfortunately, you will not be able to access a lot of our either in-progress or scrapped content. Sorry about that. Practice is nearly fully functional, and Bunkers is completely finished.
Soup was almost completely finished outside of a few kits not being done and a huge backlog of kits that never got finished or never even got started code-wise. Because of that, Soup most likely will not be playable. I might have Vops put Soup up later if interest is high enough, but no promises, sorry lol.
Burnout, PvP, and Reality
I am extremely burned out on Minecraft PvP. I lost most of my passion for it last year, it briefly came back, and now it is just gone again. I started playing PvP servers back in Minecraft beta 1.6(ish), and PvP meant a lot to me as it shaped who I was heavily.
Watching how parts of this community behave over and over has completely killed my hope for things getting better. The way people have been acting toward Prplz since he has been back is genuinely disgusting. He is just trying to provide a fun experience all these years later, and most people still cannot accept even the smallest amount of change. That is exactly why nothing ever improves and probably never will.
This is a huge choice to make, and it really hurts. This project meant so much to me, but I do not feel like living in delusion anymore. It is not fun to keep being hit in the face by reality time and time again while also disappointing people over and over again.
Where You Can Play Instead
If you want something to actually play right now, I genuinely recommend checking out Kohi.
If you want classic 1.7 gameplay instead of legacy on modern, check out Anteiku. These guys rock, and BlockGame shared a lot of similarities with their project.
Something That Needs to Be Said
The biggest thing I want to reiterate is this: be nice to those who care about you as a player.
Since BlockGame whitelisting in 2023, I have received 439 individual death threats along with countless other insults in DMs (holy cringe did she really tally them all? Yes, I did), all while just trying to open up a fun Minecraft server. I had people try to go after my family, and I had people I was friends with turn into enemies and mock me at every step, all because I wanted to create a cool place to click against other players on an even and fun playing field.
Thank You
I also want to give an insanely huge shoutout to xDuke and Ayli (& co). Without you all, I genuinely would have given up so much earlier, and I would have missed out on a lot of moments that ended up becoming core memories for me. You kept me going when I really did not want to anymore.
Thank you to every staff member and playtester who gave their time, feedback, and energy from the very beginning. You all meant more to me than you probably realize. I am sorry this had to come to such a sad ending.
Also a huge thank you to AbHi for giving me a chance to continue BlockGame’s legacy. Much love to every single one of you, and I truly hope I can make it up to you someday.
If you have any questions of any nature about BlockGame at all, do not hesitate to reach out. I aim to be sincere and transparent about everything I am able to talk about.
I do not regret any of this. We kept something real alive longer than it probably should have lasted, and I am thankful for everyone who supported it and believed in it. If you never got to play due to a lot of you joining after our mid-2023 whitelist incident, I am truly sorry for making you wait this long just to result in this outcome.
Thank you to everyone who was here for it. May 2026 and beyond treat you well.
Hey everyone, it’s been a while since our last major update, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes working on some exciting things for BlockGame. While we’re not quite ready to show off everything we’ve been cooking (sorry lol… one day surely), we are ready to announce something special - the return of Bunkers League from the Lamar.gg network (s/o Duke!).
The Return of Bunkers League
Bunkers League is making its long-awaited comeback under the BlockGame banner. To kick things off, we’ll be hosting a streamed and casted showmatch so everyone can watch the action live. It’ll be the perfect way to get back into the rhythm of Bunkers and give new and returning players a taste of what’s to come before the official season begins.
Open Signups
Signups are officially open to everyone! Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or completely new to the gamemode. Premade teams are preferred, but don’t worry if you don’t have one, we’ll slot you into a team that needs players. Our goal is to make sure everyone gets a fair shot and a fun experience.
If you’ve got friends who might be interested, tell them to hop in and join the fun! The more players we have, the better the competition will be. : )
Before You Join...
Make sure to read through the official Bunkers League Rules and share them with your teammates before signing up. It’s important that everyone’s on the same page so the matches run smoothly and fairly.

Confirmed Maps
We’re also excited to share that two maps have been officially confirmed for Bunkers League (more coming!), both built exclusively for BlockGame. These aren’t reused builds, they’re made from the ground up to fit our world, our gameplay, and our community.
The Land of OOO (Adventure Time inspired)
A colorful and vibrant map inspired by the world of Adventure Time, complete with familiar scenery, accurate landmarks, and a layout perfectly suited for fast-paced Bunkers gameplay. Each team has their own kingdom from the show with its own small advantages.
The Town of Beginnings (Sword Art Online inspired)
A detailed and immersive map built as a tribute to Sword Art Online’s iconic starting area. Designed to feel both familiar and fresh, it blends open courtyards, scenic views, and tight combat zones, perfectly balanced for competitive Bunkers play.
Built from the ground up as a tribute to Sword Art Online’s iconic starting area, this map blends nostalgia with competitive design, detailed architecture, and a balanced flow for every fight.
Both maps were built with incredible attention to detail and tailored specifically for Bunkers, balancing canon to the reference material, beauty and playability. And this is just the start, more maps will be confirmed later as we move closer to launch!
Looking Forward
This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for BlockGame. We’re beyond excited to bring Bunkers back in a big way and give the community something competitive and fun to rally around again. Huge thanks to everyone who continues to support the project, we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
Stay tuned for updates about the showmatch stream, team lists, and more coming soon!
TL;DR:
Bunkers League is back (originally from Lamar.gg, s/o Duke). We’re starting off with a streamed showmatch so everyone can watch live before the actual season begins.
Signups are open to everyone, premade teams are preferred, but we’ll find a spot for solo players too.

There is a TL;DR at the bottom of this post but if you are genuinely interested in our project I urge you to read this in full.
Humble Beginnings (Early 2022)
Our origins start with a desire for a better PotPvP practice server due to the terrible state the community was in. In early 2022, the project began as a casual project between friends, using existing code (without permission) under the name "StolenCode" as a running gag. However, within six months, we realized we had the potential to make something that was actually good.
Building the Foundation (Late 2022)
The second half of 2022 saw a shift towards a more serious approach. The team, consisting of myself and Vops, embarked on recreating SkylandKits/Lunar's SoupPvP and adding new features. We also decided to do Bunkers, another beloved game mode that he remade and integrated. To gain traction, we reached out to a select few of the remaining notable media in the community and brought on an additional developer. Progress was steady, and the future started to look promising.
Full Commitment and a Name Change (Early 2023)
The new year brought a decision to fully dedicate ourselves to BlockGame. We wanted to provide the community with a server free of malicious intent and built with passion. To reflect this seriousness, "StolenCode" was no longer fitting. A personal connection led to the acquisition of the "BlockGame" name, a server I had enjoyed playing and staffing for in 2019. With the owner's blessing, the torch was passed, and we began working towards an end goal.
Facing Setbacks (Mid 2023)
While initially working with the existing stolen and heavily modified codebase, the ambitious goals we set required a complete overhaul of everything Vops had worked on. To ensure a truly exceptional player experience, we started redoing just about everything, and even picked up a second developer. This period of intense development, handled by just two developers, necessitated a temporary close of BlockGame.
In June 2023, a complication arose. Our secondary developer suggested someone to join as an investor, and things appeared positive so I agreed. However, a month later, he had also brought on two new developers while I was asleep and they were given full access to everything by the time I woke up. He talked it over with me and even showed that Vops was on board with them joining, despite my gut feeling I hesitantly agreed due to the lack of other options.
Progress continued with a four-person team until the investor revealed the potential closure of Soup.gg, another PvP server he was a part of. He proposed a merge with BlockGame because he understood my passion, and I couldn't deny it as it's a no-brainer because the Soup.gg player base most likely would've had nowhere else to play after it shut down.
Creative Difference (Mid-Late 2023)
The Soup.gg merger caused creative friction with the secondary developer shortly after our first playtest in July, leading to his departure. Vops and I agreed to remove the two remaining developers that he brought in due to unfamiliarity and potential security risks. This decision, though necessary, was met with hostility.
The two developers spammed our Discord channels via existing webhooks, attempted to nuke our Discord server, and issued threats via private messages. Despite our assurances that we would cease using their code, the threats continued and eventually resorted to them leaking a limited amount of data and taunting us publicly. Thankfully, the leaked information posed a minimal risk as it was from our website revamp that wasn't publically released yet and was from a small list of closed QA testers and staff, consisting of alt emails, and passwords that were both hashed and salted. Everyone in said leak was privately notified and there were no harsh feelings from anyone.
New Direction (Late 2023 - Present)
By October, things began to stabilize. However, another setback emerged: the investor abruptly stopped funding and became unreachable. After months of trying we were forced to abandon any further attempts at contact. Unfortunately, he was the owner of the previous Discord most of you came from. We didn't feel safe announcing anything with the risk of him being able to delete any of it at any point (hopefully he doesn't notice this post), which is why we made a new Discord server (linked at the bottom of this post!)
In January 2024, Vops and I had a crucial discussion about BlockGame's future. We made the bold decision to completely eliminate the existing code and embark on a fresh start utilizing the latest Minecraft releases!
We believe this move, combined with the exhaustion of possibilities within the 1.7 & 1.8 versions, will allow us to create a truly unique PvP experience – a reimagining of what Minecraft PvP could have been if the combat update had never happened. Alongside this, we are excited to also announce we have been given permission to reuse the ViperMC resource pack converter's code as Vops was the original developer who made it for them, thanks Viper!
Note: At the moment it may have some issues considering we aren't fully released and everything is a WIP, there may be a delay for some more features of the website as well until they're fully polished for release, sorry about any inconveniences in the meantime!
Looking Forward
This announcement aims to regain lost trust. We understand the frustration caused by the silence and appreciate those who have patiently awaited news. BlockGame has faced its share of challenges, but our dedication to creating an exceptional PvP server remains undefeated.
Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us on this journey, we are incredibly grateful. Your patience and understanding mean the world to us. For those who are just joining us, welcome! We're excited to have you on board for this next chapter of BlockGame.
Unfortunately we don't have any specific dates planned at the moment for anything, but we'll be sharing more details about our plans for the server soon, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out, I aim to be extremely transparent about everything I'm able to currently talk about.
Thanks for reading!
I also want to add, we haven't forgotten about anyone who donated on Soup.gg! Everyone who had purchased ANYTHING will be given compensation on BlockGame! We will be matching ranks of similar value and also be giving you early access to the server while we iron things out.
TL;DR: Started as a joke named StolenCode using (you guessed it) stolen code to have a server to mess around on, realized we had potential so we renamed the project and started taking it semi-serious. Faced internal drama, threats, and delays. Now restarting with fresh code based on the latest Minecraft version releases (don't worry, still 1.7-1.8 combat!) for a unique PvP experience. Alongside this, we are excited to also announce we have been given permission to reuse the ViperMC resource pack converter's code as Vops was the original developer who made it for them, thanks Viper!
Please move over to our new Discord as our old one is essentially locked, and I have explained why in the post above. Click me to join!
